Usually, self-portraits stare right at you, but with silhouettes ‘en face’ your ears are especially highlighted. So ‘en profile’. To see what’s changing in a silhouette while speaking, I was sitting by myself, talking, and taking digital pictures with my hand stretched out next to me. That’s how this talking self-portrait came about.
